AD Leb is collaborating with ArtScoops and Agenda Culturel to host an art and design auction at The Sursock Museum on July 20th to raise funds for The Gaïa Fodoulian Association.

Unique or limited edition works by twenty-two artists and designers will be exhibited at The Sursock Museum on 15-19 July ahead of the live auction which will be conducted by auctioneer Edward Rising

Many of the artists involved have previously exhibited work with AD Leb, a cultural space and digital platform dedicated to supporting cultural and artistic production in Lebanon and the surrounding region.

AD Leb

A talented designer, Gaïa developed the idea for AD Leb in early 2020. She believed in the importance of supporting and showcasing the work of local and international artists and designers and hoped to achieve this mission through her platform. Gaïa’s mother, art patron and gallerist Annie Vartivarian, is realizing this vision as a tribute to her daughter. Through a curated programme, AD Leb aims to promote dialogue and connect local and international artists, designers, cultural practitioners, art enthusiasts, and collectors.

The Gaïa Fodoulian Association

The animal cause is a cause that Gaïa Fodoulian dedicated her life to prior to her untimely death in the Beirut Port Explosion on 4 August 2020. The Association was set up by her family to honor her legacy and to further her wish that every animal be safe and cared for. An avid animal lover, Gaïa had a deep affection for all animals and a strong impulse to help those in need. Whilst Gaïa typically acted independently, the Association’s goal is to create a structured framework to build on the compassion that she so willingly offered.

The Association is also acting as a central hub to support a wider network of rescuers around the country and is seeking to set up a new shelter to better provide vital nursing and fostering services.
