“FRAGMENTS OF BELONGING”
Solo Exhibition by Haytham Sharrouf
Curated by Randa Sadaka
Haytham Sharrouf (b. 1990, Venezuela) is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist based between Lebanon and Doha. With degrees in Interior Design, Graphics, and an MBA in Design focusing on cultural sustainability, his practice bridges personal experience with collective memory.
Rooted in Expressionist Surrealism, Sharrouf explores themes of identity, belonging, and transformation, drawing on the cultural narratives of the Levant and Gulf. His series Connection to the Land reflects his Lebanese identity, while Stitching Intimacy and Identity revisits the silk industry (1872–1910), weaving together labor, craft, and survival.
Sharrouf’s work has been shown at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Doha Film Institute. His solo exhibition “Pearlo” at the Fire Station in Doha used the metaphor of pearl formation to reflect on pain, growth, and resilience.
