The Samir Kassir Foundation is thrilled to release the program for the 15th edition of the Beirut Spring Festival, which will take place on June 4, 5 and 6, 2023. This year will feature two theatrical performances.

On June 4 and 5, the Beirut Spring Festival is paying tribute to the late Lebanese Canadian writer and director Majdi Bou Matar (1974-2022) who founded the MT Space in Canada and whose artistic team will perform “The Last 15 Seconds” for two consecutive nights at the Sunflower Theater. The play is in English with Arabic and French subtitles.
Based on a true story, “The Last 15 Seconds” explores the topic of terrorism starting from the tragic death of Syrian-American filmmaker Mustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima during a series of coordinated attacks that hit three prominent hotels in the Jordanian capital Amman in 2005.
This performance is sponsored by the Embassy of Canada to Lebanon.

On June 6, the theatrical production "White Rabbit Red Rabbit" by Iranian author Nassim Soleimanpour will be performed by Fouad Yammine in Lebanese dialect with English subtitles at the Monnot Theatre as part of the Beirut Spring Festival's national premiere in Lebanon.
With no rehearsal, no director, a different actor each night, and a script waiting in a sealed envelope on stage, this play is an audacious theatrical experiment and a potent reminder of the transgressive and transformative power of theatre.
This performance is sponsored by the FNF Lebanon and Syria.
