When Horror Occured, we were away, on the terrace of our village house near Byblos, we left Beirut early, on February that year due to COVID.
Then,
Cold Bones
Incapable eyes
Stuffed silence
Call attempts.
On the second morning, I had a Zombie walk in the catastrophy for few hours, in these same streets that two years ago were bursting with energy, now punished, Beirut 2019 song felt like a swan song, the one this majestic bird performs before dying.
Back then I took so many pictures, none today.
Dry Gaze
Heavy Air
Glass
Blood
Flattened structures
Gutted cars
All very concrete
Our Ashrafieh flat was relatively spared , but there was, in each room, an erect carpet, rolled on itself, raising up towards my weakend knees.
