At the beginning of the 80's, Yann Charbonnier worked in New York as an assistant in fashion and portrait photography.

In 1988, he started working for 30 years on the relationship between animals and humans, a project for which he got several grants.

In 2015, Yann Charbonnier started working on the Mediterranean. He got artist residencies at the Villa Medici in Rome, MACAM Foundation and Zico House in Lebanon.

He exhibited in New York, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Cologne, Paris, Arles and Brittany. His work is part of prestigious art collections worldwide.  

All prints being shown at Arthaus are analog. No digital printing whatsoever. He uses traditional techniques like gelatin silver, platinum-palladium, Cibachrome and charcoal Fresson.
