We’re excited to invite you to celebrate a milestone with us: the release of our ninth issue, and our first ever print, The Flavors We Carry. After a year of work, care, and unwavering support, this issue finally comes to life in your hands.

A little about the issue:

“Food is the way many of us first learn about care. We are taught that sharing a meal amongst family and friends is sacred. We also come to know that hunger is not always about sustenance, and that nourishment often arrives as a form of love, generosity, resistance, or even mourning. This issue is an invitation to reflect on what our inherited recipes and practices carry beyond ingredients and techniques. It is also a testament to how food sustains not just bodies, but histories and hopes.”

To honor this first print edition, we warmly invite you to our Issue IX Launch Event on Thursday, November 27, at Souk el-Tayeb from 7 to 10 PM.

Expect the night to be an ode to the multi-sensorial language of food, a space where you can see, taste, touch, smell, and even hear food in all its forms. There will be traditional bites, a special performance, and quiet corners where you can reflect on and share your own stories around food. Above all, this evening is for you — the community that has sustained us, encouraged us, and made this print possible.

At the venue, you’ll also be able to browse and purchase cover-art prints from previous issues, as well as our limited tote bags created in collaboration with @jentonicofficial.
