Liquid Images, Liquid Sounds is a series of five rooftop cine-concerts that pair silent films with live performances by local musicians, centering around water and the broader concept of liquidity. Inspired by sociologist Zygmunt Bauman’s exploration of "liquid modernity," the program critically engages with the contemporary condition defined by fluidity, instability, and continuous transformation. The selected silent films highlight water’s symbolic potency—its associations with displacement, renewal, uncertainty, and resilience—while the live musical performances offer spontaneous yet thoughtful interpretations, bridging historical imagery with present-day soundscapes.
