We’re back with outdoor Cineclub at Nation Station and the first screening will be next Thursday!

This Cineclub session deals with the comic and the absurd in the daily life of Mediterranean societies. The featured filmmakers depict characters facing everyday struggles in order to highlight issues of injustice and social unease, while also questioning dominant values and established institutions, all through the lens of absurd humor.

A middle-aged man from Rome suddenly becomes a care-worker for the elderly in order to pay his bills; a woman from Hadath wins the lottery and tries to hide it from her family at their Christmas eve celebrations; a hyperactive filmmaker overflowing with inspiration and ideas travels through north Lebanon… These are only a few of the characters we’ll meet on screen with the launch of “Digging into the absurd”, taking place on 06/10, 20/10, 03/11 and 17/11 at 7:30 PM at Nation Station, Geitawi.
 

Each screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers. The events are free of charge and seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Feel free to bring your own drinks. And enjoy!
