Maison Pan, founded by Marie Obegi*, is an informal residency program, designed for artists, by artists .

It is located in Gemmayzeh street, above Doculand, on the 4th floor.

*Marie Obegi is a Lebanese artist born in Paris. She graduated in 2013 from Parsons The New School for Design in New York with a BFA in Illustration. She then earned a Master in Liberal Studies from the New School for Social Research in New York, focusing on aesthetics, psychology and philosophy. Obegi's works question how we connect both with ourselves and with others. She experiments with the figure and storytelling.

Materiality, narration and savoir-faire are some of her most pressing concerns in artistic creation. After living in Kyoto (Japan), where she was primarily working with Japanese woodblock carving and printing techniques mokuhanga.

In 2020 Obegi co-founded VAULT, an artist residency and exhibition space, based in London.

She believes in building strong, diverse and vibrant artistic communities.

She is now based between Paris and Beirut where she focuses primarily on painting.

She recently opened ‘Maison Pan’, an informal residency program between Beirut and Paris.

At Maison Pan, our story is one of passion, friendship, and the pursuit of artistic exploration. We began as a humble idea born from the desire to create a welcoming space where artists could share their talents and inspire one another.

Just like a warm loaf of bread brings people together, Maison Pan offers a sanctuary for artists to gather, collaborate, and create in a friendly and nurturing environment.

Our name, derived from the French and Spanish words for "home" and "bread," reflects our mission to provide a place where artists can find not only a physical space but also a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
