Love & Revenge is a contemporary electro-pop musical and visual performance that revisits the timeless golden era of Egyptian cinema, paying tribute to the kitsch idols of an Arab world passionate in its dramas and melodramas. It retells in surprising and hybrid performative forms the biggest success stories of the Middle-Eastern music scene: those of Kadhem Saher, Souad Hosni, and Sabah, as well as of Studio Misr’s singing idols Leila Mourad, Farid el-Atrache, Asmahan and Oum Kalthoum, and oriental dance queens Samia Gamal and Taheya Carioca.
