Beirut 2020
The blast that struck Beirut on August 4 left our city ravaged, with over 200 deaths, and countless physical and emotional scars. We stand in mourning for our lost friends, colleagues and the people of our city.
As artists and cultural workers, we feel responsible for reflecting our personal and collective realities, as violent as they might be. We also feel responsible towards our community, especially the most vulnerable groups who were already living in dire conditions before the devastating blast.
We have put together this group exhibition, titled "Beirut 2020", to support our artists as well as young artists who have been working with us since the beginning of the revolution, and channel their expressions, as culture is an indispensable constituent of every society.
We will also be supporting Foyer Saint Georges with part of our sales. The Foyer, which provides medical and social care services to the elderly, was severely damaged by the blast of August 4, and we would like to lend them a helping hand with this exhibition.
A year after the start of the Lebanese revolution, we are prouder than ever of our artists who have shown extraordinary determination to push through on their path of creativity, and we are thankful to them, to our team, and to the collectors for their continuous support in these difficult times.
